Listen, I know that this song is not politically correct, and yes, there's an argument to be made that it is offensive. I am all for body positivity, and I say that as a man who has been fat his entire life. That said, this song is my favorite polka as it bring back so many happy memories of Pulaski Days past and all of the good times I have had with the people I love, whether it be my dear Aunt Mary or my grandma and grandpa, none of whom are with us any more, but it also reminds me of other people that I love that are still in my life, like Shalee, who has shared many a Pulaski Day with me in a Polish Hall somewhere, my dear friends the Johnsons who showed me how to embrace and be proud of my Polish ancestry, or even my friend Saga, who just last year road out to Grand Rapids with her boyfriend for her first experience of this Polish-American, and very West Michigan, annual event.
