She Wants Revenge "Tear You Apart"

Keeping with the synth and post-punk mood I have been in lately, this is a recent rediscovery. It has to be, the track is 20 years old, but despite coming out decades later this song just feels  so 80s in the best possible way.  It's slightly lecherous, like good pop can be, because after all, even the term rock'n roll was just slang for intercourse back in the day, so shouldn't gothy music like this be dripping (pun intended?) with desire, even if it's a little sinister? I want to hold you close soft breasts, beating heart, as I whisper in your ear I want to fucking tear you apart Damn, I think so. The slowly throbbing bassline works perfectly with this song about forbidden, dirty, maybe even controversial, lust, leaving the listener with only one real option: Succumb. Welcome to midweek! Enjoy!

Moby feat. Mimi Goese "When It's Cold I'd Like To Die"

Today's vibe. Where were you when I was lonesome? Locked away with freezing cold Someone flying only stolen I can't tell this light so old I don't wanna swim the ocean I don't wanna fight the tide I don't wanna swim forever When it's cold I'd like to die Is it comforting or terribly depressing? Maybe both. You tell me. All that I know with certainty is that it is very moving. Welcome to Friday. Enjoy!

Wargasm (UK) "Modern Love" [Live from Outernet]

I first posted about Wargasm just over a year ago when I discovered them during a Bandcamp Friday and was only familiar with a few tracks of theirs. I saw in Intagram that they were touring wiht Scene Queen this year and were coming to my town, which I mentioned the other day . While I loved "Vigilantes," I wasn't sure if I wanted to see them as just an opening act, so I went to go listen to them some more and found that they released Live In London 2025  earlier this year. I threw it on and just let it play. And then I listened again. And again. Some bands put out bangers, no question, but some bands simply must be experienced live, or in this case, at least listened to live. I quickly went from "they might be fun to see" to "holy shit, I need  to see Wargasm!" Honestly, this album is 100% no skips for me, but I keep coming back to "Modern Love" over and over (why yes, I do obsess sometimes). Now that I have tickets to see them with Scene ...

Chvrches "Clearest Blue"

Big surprise here, that I love a song that goes boop-boop-beep, but today my anxiety is higher than usual and I needed something that makes me happy. "Clearest Blue" makes me happy. It's a good synthpop tune as it is, but man, when it starts to ramp up to that explosion around the 2:11 mark, everything is right with the world. Do something that makes you happy today, the week is half over!

To The End "today is not a good day to be a pussy"

Full disclosure here, I might  be a touch biased as To The End is the name by old college friend, David, uses for the music he posts on SoundCloud. He either posts stuff or sends it directly to me, and many more times than not I really like what he sends me. I admit that Dave's creativity inspires me. He simply must create, whether it be photography, music, or his ephemeral blog, it just has to come out of him. When it comes to my own creative endeavors I often wrestle with whether something is good enough to post. I'm not saying that Dave doesn't do that, but his output is impressive. And to top it all off, he puts out quality shit, like this track here. What else can I say, this track is fire. to the end · today is not a good day to be a pussy

Wargasm (UK) "Vigilantes"

This is obnoxiously loud and aggressive, but it speaks to me. On the strength of this track I briefly considered going to see them open for In This Moment, but $66 (+ service fees) is a lot to pay for just one song from one band. Regardless, this track will melt your face off and you'll thank them for it. Enjoy! VIGILANTES by WARGASM
